So over the year i have some izotope stuff that i use very gently, some BX_ stuff that i really like, the fab filter limiters (gently gently) added with the IK multimedia limiter. for mastering stuff, i tend to use a combination of things myself, and i know everyone is different in how they approach it obviously.
The Glue Compressor device in Live supports up to x2 oversampling with linear phase (right on title bar of the device to get the menu), and has a generic EQ section from EQ8 to do sidechain filtering, and the device has an integrated external sidechain picker (which I am pushing to be included for all plugins with external sidechain inputs).īoth with give you great results, but the plugin version has the option for way higher oversampling, so if you're pushing things, or want the highest quality possible on render then the plugin version is probably better. There is also an option to include dc blocking filters both pre and post compressor. The sidechain filter is a gentle 1 pole high pass, which I find best for de-emphasis of bass. The Glue plugin supports up to 圆4 oversampling, with linear phase, intermediate phase, and minimum phase options, and you can automatically switch to a higher rate on render.
